About Pantry Services

Ballard does not charge for anything found in the Pantry.

It is the ultimate shopping experience! We are unique in the Lawrence community in the diversity and quality of items we routinely provide to anyone in need. Senior, students, Ballard families and others, all are welcome! The wealth of goods in our pantries is supplied by the generous donations of individuals, partnerships with churches and businesses and collections organized by individuals and groups, as well as by grants. Thanks to our amazing supporters, Ballard is able to provide:

CLOTHING & DIAPERS

Our pantry offers a full range of seasonally appropriate clothing items for men, women, and children, including diapers and wipes, undergarments, shoes and socks, jackets and coats, and assorted winterwear.

FOOD &TOILETRIES

We do our best to consistently stock a range of basic non-perishable food, such as cereal, infant formula, canned goods, and baking supplies, and personal care items, such as shampoo and deodorant, laundry detergent, and feminine hygiene products.

HOUSEHOLD BASICS

Usually available by request are items needed for the home, such as bedding and towels, dishes, pots and pans, and small appliances (e.g., coffee pots).

WORKWEAR

Our Professional Closet can provide many types of work appropriate clothing, from suits and dresses to scrubs and work boots, helping to ensure that lack of proper attire is not a barrier to employment.

Ballard provides a wide variety of programs and services to those in crisis. As we work to implement our mission of stabilizing families in Lawrence and Douglas County, we recognize that many who walk through our doors are a single negative life event away from catastrophe. Ballard wants to help those who are struggling and see them through that catastrophe from beginning to end. Read further for more information on our Family Stabilization services, including the Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance Program and the Mobile Food Pantry.

** There are often opportunities for Volunteer Service in our Food and Clothing Pantry. Please complete the Volunteer Interest Form to express interest and obtain further information.
