Why Make A Gift?
Because the Ballard Center helps others! For instance, a single mother with two children has a home and has food on the table while her oldest child, an alumnus of the Ballard Center, is succeeding in the public school system and her youngest is succeeding in the Ballard Center early education program, all due to assistance received through our various programs.

Because the Ballard Center helps an 86 year old Senior Citizen have food on her table and heat in her home while ensuring that she has the medications she needs so she won’t need to go into the hospital.

Because at the Ballard Center your donation goes directly towards making a difference. The agency is not federally or state funded, but relies on our local community to help us continue to help others change their lives.

Giving It For Tomorrow
G.I.F.T. Program

The G.I.F.T. Program is a way for individuals to help the Ballard Community Center provide high quality early education to young children, ages one through five, while at the same time providing this care at the lowest cost to families in Douglas County. The
Ballard Center mission supports the ideal that low-income children particularly need extra educational intervention during these highly formative years. It also supports the fact that most low-income families cannot afford to place their children in early education programs and need additional help in obtaining care so that they can remain employed and out of the welfare system. The G.I.F.T. program is the Ballard Center’s way of meeting these needs. Through the provision and retention of a quality staff and the incorporation of a high quality standardized curriculum the Ballard Center provides developmentally appropriate and meaningful educational activities for children. The Ballard Center is deeply committed to educating young children so that they enter the public school system ready to learn, thus decreasing the need for additional assistance at the public school system level.

How To Sponsor a Child

For $600 per month or $7,200 per year you can sponsor two children in the Ballard Center early education program for one year.

For $100 per month or $1200 per year you can sponsor a child to attend the Ballard Center early education program for four months.

For $25 per month or $300 per year you can sponsor a child to attend the Ballard Center early education program for one month.

Other Ways To Give

Bequests
You can make a gift bequest to the Ballard Community Center providing a specific dollar amount, specific property, a percentage of your estate, or a remainder interest in a trust. Such a designation can reduce your estate taxes.

Appreciated Stock or Real Estate
If you have appreciated stock, you may take a tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock when the stock is donated to the Ballard Center. If you own real estate, you may retain the use of the property for your lifetime while avoiding estate taxes on the property by making a gift.

Life Insurance
By naming this organization the owner and beneficiary to receive the proceeds of an existing life insurance policy, you will receive a tax deduction for approximately the cash surrender value, thereby reducing your tax liability in the year of the gift
